Sports Arena

 

The Sports Arena boasts a 3,500-seat basketball arena and a one-tenth-mile (160 meter) indoor track. The Arena sits adjacent to the 1,800-seat Ice Arena (Buffalo's only collegiate ice rink), and houses the Buffalo State Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame.

The Sports Arena is the home venue for men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball and indoor track and field, and is a practice facility for several of Buffalo State's other teams.

Since opening in 1991, the facility has hosted the World University Games, the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Final Four, high school sectionals in volleyball, track & field and basketball, and numerous other special events.

The Arena has also hosted numerous concerts, including Smashing Pumpkins, Tea Party, Lupe Fiasco, D12, Nickelback, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Busta Rhymes, The Wallflowers, All-American Rejects, Gym Class Heroes, Good Charlotte, Fabolous, J. Cole, Maino, Chris Rock, Carlos Mencia and more.

Driving to Buffalo State Athletics Facilities

From the East (via the NYS Thruway/Interstate 90)
Take Exit 51 (NY 33 West) to NY 198 West. Exit NY 198 at Grant Street. Turn left at light onto Grant.  Turn left at first traffic signal and turn quick right to Parking Lot L-1.

From the West (via the NYS Thruway/Interstate 90)
Take Exit 53 (Interstate 190) to NY 198 East; exit at Grant Street. Procede straight through traffic signal and turn quick right to Parking Lot L-1.

From the North/Niagara Falls
Take Interstate 190 South (over the Grand Island Bridge) to NY 198 East; exit at Grant Street. Procede straight through traffic signal and turn quick right to Parking Lot L-1.

From the Peace Bridge
Take Interstate 190 North to NY 198 East; exit at Grant Street. Procede straight through traffic signal and turn quick right to Parking Lot L-1.

From the Greater Buffalo International Airport
Exit the airport onto Rt. 33 West for approximately 5.5 miles. Continue to Rt. 198 West (Scajaquada Expressway). Stay on expressway approximately 2.5 miles. Exit at Grant Street. Turn left at light onto Grant.  Turn left at first traffic signal and turn quick right to Parking Lot L-1.
